Responsible Advertising

A trust operating model for sponsored recommendations.

Core Rules

Six principles that govern every sponsored recommendation.

Visible sponsorship

Every sponsored recommendation must carry a clear, visible label. Labels are enforced at the protocol level and cannot be removed by the advertiser or operator.

Required

Honest answer first

The agent's organic answer always appears before any sponsored content. AIP does not replace, rewrite, or suppress the agent's independent response.

Required

Advertiser claims

Claims made in sponsored content must be supportable, non-misleading, and reviewed before activation. Unverifiable performance claims are not permitted.

Reviewable

Consent controls

Personalisation signals are limited to intent categories and user-provided context. Sensitive personal data is not used for targeting without explicit user consent.

Control

Targeting limits

Sponsored recommendations may not target based on protected characteristics, inferred health conditions, or political affiliations.

Control

Auditability

Every sponsored delivery event is logged with delivery ID, label status, category, and outcome. Records are available for review and export.

Prohibited content

The following content categories are not permitted in any sponsored recommendation delivered through AIP, regardless of geography or advertiser status.

  • Content that could mislead users about the nature of a sponsored recommendation
  • Campaigns for regulated high-risk services without appropriate licensing
  • Content designed to deceive, defraud, or manipulate user decisions
  • Third-party payment processing, money movement, or cash-equivalent services
  • Using AIP to collect, pass through, or settle payments for third-party merchants, advertisers, publishers, or end users
  • Speculative asset products, restricted digital asset services, or collectible asset sales
  • Games of chance, prize-based contests, or betting-related services
  • Age-restricted explicit content or services
  • Regulated professional advice delivered without appropriate safeguards
  • Unauthorized personal data sale, data misuse, or standalone compute resource resale
  • Transactions, campaigns, exports, or service access involving sanctioned persons, embargoed jurisdictions, restricted parties, or export-controlled activity prohibited by applicable law
  • Age-restricted or sensitive campaigns targeting underage users
  • Content that violates applicable laws or regulations in the delivery jurisdiction

Restricted categories

The following categories require additional review and may be subject to enhanced controls, geographic restrictions, or specific disclosure requirements.

  • High-impact purchase decisions that typically require professional advice
  • Campaigns in age-restricted categories
  • Sensitive campaigns that require enhanced consent or disclosure
  • High-dispute categories with elevated refund or chargeback risk

Data and consent

AIP processes only the minimum data required for intent classification, campaign matching, and reporting. User consent boundaries are respected.

  • Personalisation is limited to conversation-level intent signals
  • Sensitive personal data is not used for targeting without explicit consent
  • User opt-out preferences are respected at the protocol level
  • Data retention follows applicable regulations and is documented

Enforcement

AIP reserves the right to review, pause, or remove any campaign or integration that violates this policy. Enforcement actions are logged and communicated.

  • Policy violations may result in campaign suspension or account termination
  • Repeat violations escalate enforcement measures
  • All enforcement actions are recorded and available for review
  • Appeals are reviewed within documented timeframes
